FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Players are required to pay a full registration fee for each team they choose to play in. If a player chooses to play in more than one team, they are required to pay more than one registration fee. There are no discounts on registration fees.  Any players that play without paying their registration fees in full, or making arrangements with us for payment, will receive penalties stated in the conditions of play. If you are having issues paying your fees you need to see the competition manager to make arrangements.  In cases where arrangements cannot be made you CANNOT PLAY until your registrations are paid in full.

  • U6 non-competitive - $70 including shorts/tights. Per child, per team, per season (+ $15 Australian OzTag membership once a year from 2025).

U8 & above - $90 per child, per team, per season (+ $15 Australian OzTag membership once a year from 2025).

  • Yes, we take individual players who do not have a team, however, due to the influx of individual players we have received in previous seasons we now require parents to join our “Newcastle junior Oztag individual players” group on our Facebook page.

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/1303901983671463

Once you have joined you can post in the group to ask if any teams need a team OR you can even create your team from individual players who are looking for a team.

We will monitor this group and always be assisting in trying to find your child a team, however in some circumstances, your child may miss out if teams are full or it's closer to the cut-off date for registrations. It is advised to get in quick!

  • PLAYING DOWN AN AGE DIVISION:

Is NOT allowed, players must play in their own age group or they can play up.

    PLAYING UP AN AGE DIVISON:

Players are allowed to play up one age division only. The parents must be aware of this as it can be a 2 year age difference. eg 8 year old playing in U10s age division.

  • Teams in the U6 & U8 divisions must have a minimum of 8 players registered to secure their team in the competition prior to the cut-off date which will be sent to all team organisers when they register a team. It is recommended that you have at least 9 players registered for these age divisions.

Teams U10 and above must have a minimum of 9 players registered to secure their team in the competition prior to the cut-off date sent to all team organisers when registrations open. It is recommended that you have at least 11 players registered for these age divisions.

  • Our age divisions are U6, U8, U10, U12, U14 & U16 boys and girls. (We do not take mixed teams in divisions U8 and above, U6 non competitive are welcome to enter mixed teams as points are not recorded)

Age divisions are based on the calendar year (in which the competition starts in) for example any player turning 10 years of age in 2024 will be in the U10s Division, and any player turning 11 years of age in 2024 will be in the U12s divisions.

  • U6 non-competitive runs for 8 rounds and no finals are played or points given. This is non-competitive to allow U6 to learn the fundamentals of the game and prepare them for competitive competition when they move up into U8 division.

  • If a player can no longer play during the season the following applies:

    • If the player withdrawing IS NOT being replaced and the SEASON HAS NOT COMMENCED, they will get a full refund minus a $20 administration fee.
